Some nature photos from a long hike today

Visited two forest preserves and ran into some beautiful and peaceful area. Also saw a lot of birds and the odd squirrel. A red-headed woodpecker was yelling at me and playing hide and seek and unfortunately eluded my camera. But a Nuthatch that was remarkably tame took a moment to pose before continuing his way around a tree trunk.

I hope you enjoy these shots and maybe provide some “zen” and like me see why being “green” and “eco-friendly” is so important. The quiet serenity of a woods is unmatched for inspiring relaxation in us.
